Getting Closer....

Well is has only been a few days since my last blog, but what the heck...

I have been traveling so much lately, i just want to spend some time at home.

I got home from So Cal just in time to watch the opening ceremonies last night. We had my parents and cousins and Sherri's aunt over to watch. WOW, they were very impressive. The opening ceremonies were great. The visual effects were great.

We are excited... our new pastor gives his first sermon on next Saturday. He came to our church in May while we were at session. SO this will be the first time I will get to met him. I do feel old, as he is only 30 years old. I have never been older than my pastor.. But I guess that is what happens to you.

Also Sherri has been decorating the pastors office and church sectary's office. It has been very time consuming. The majority of the work is done, now just the finishing touches. We went and picked up the fabric for the chairs today. I know Sherri will feel relieved once she gets to meet Pastor Chad and finish the details.

Tonight, I did get bummed, we were hoping to get tickets to see the space shuttle launch in October. I have still not been able to get tickets, they should go on sale this week. I went to the website to see if there were any updates, and they changed the time of the Launch. It is now scheduled for 1:30 in the morning. WHAT A BUMMER. I doubt I would be able to keep Carter awake. I just pray that they change the time back to the morning/day. I really want to have Carter experience the launch.

Well, tomorrow morning we are headed up to Fresno to go the the water park with the Kids. Then tomorrow night, we will be having a camp out for Carter and his Cousin in the back yard. That should be a lot of fun.

Well keep safe and Kat, get better!!

God Bless to all our friends and family.

Long Hot Summer

Wow, it seems hard to belive that it is now August! This summer has almost passed. Well at least the summer break. We have been busy, going to the Island water park,My mom and dad retirement part and to the coast on weekends.
This summer has been hot, but enjoyable.

In just two weeks, Carter will be beginning Kindergarden at Central Valley Christian school. (www.cvc.org) He will be in Mrs De Hoog’s class.

We are also getting ready for our vacation this year. We are headed to Orlando in October. We will be taking Grandma and Grandpa with us to Walt Disney World, and other central Florida attactions . We are excited that while we are in Floriday, the space shuttle Atlantis is scheudled to lauch on October 8th. We are trying to get tickets to sit in the grand stands. They wont go on sale for a few more weeks.
Well it is close to dinner time and we are going to head over to visit my cousin and go swimming. Stay cool!

I am not MIA

Well you ask, what could be up with this looser?

Why does he not blog???

At least that I what I have been reminded by Katrina!

Well April and May have been wicked busy for work and regular life.

Carter Finished T-Ball at the beginning of May, and loved it!! He still wants to play more. As T-Ball finished, is was off for my work conference in May. We stayed 5 nights the Grand Californian. While I worked, the family had fun and enjoyed the park. The last two days, we had some family come down. It was the first time that they had taken their kids to Disney. Everyone had some much fun. After the conference was over, I had to stay an additional week in OC to train an employee. I HATED being away from the family so much.

I finally made it home in time for Mothers Day. Apparently everyone feels that we had to celebrate at my house. All worked out well. I hosted a Mothers day Bruch. It was great, we had a good time visiting and letting the MOM’s rest and have a peaceful day. The Kids got Sherri a Nintendo DS. She has been asking for Brain Age. SHE IS ADDICTED. She is either doing the daily training or playing soduko (SP??)

Then the following week, back on the road. It seem like that is all I have been doing….

Mid month, Sherri and I celbrated our 10th wedding anniversary. WOW… we cant be that old. I think we got married at age 10. Who knows…

We took a trip to the central coast. Right during the heat wave. It was in the 90’s in San Luis Obispo, and 80 and 70’s right at the beach. We did enjoy driving around with the top down in the car for a bit.

We returned on Saturday night to prepare Ella’s 2nd Birthday. WOW Does time fly. Yes my princess is two. She has recently begun to “work” her dad. Apparently I am the softie and let her get what she wants. Lately she has found our stash of Jelly Beans… She will go by where the jar is, look at us with a very cute look, and say “Daddy, Bean” and well I can not say no. This is going to be very expensive when she gets older… I may need to get a few more jobs, so I won’t have to say no.

Well another road trip for work, this time I was able to swing by and visit my BFF Shari at a “Storm” game. It was a lot of fun visiting and catching up. We must do that again!!

Upon arriving back to town, it was straight to Carters Graduation. That is right Carter graduated from Preschool and HE WAS ACCEPTED INTO KINDERGARDEN. YEAHHHH

We were concerned, the school has high requirements and we just kept praying that God will guide us if that is where he should go to school.

Well I am in Artesia right now at a Starbucks… Surprise!!

I have to head to a meeting but wanted to catch my friends on what has happened. No I am not missing.

God bless everyone and have a great end of May and I hope to right again before July…

(Katrina has to keep me on track) This is a 12 step program right???

"Its a jolly holiday with Mary"

Wow, Katrina emailed me to let me know that I am not blogging enough!!! OK...

Well my life is so routine; I often feel that there is not too much to talk about. Now that it is April, I had an opportunity to have my wife meet someone she truly admires. All it took was a lack of sleep and sitting in the cold. I'll get to that in a bit... Let’s go all the way to the beginning....

It all started when my wonderful bride had a meeting the same weekend as our God Daughters birthday trip to Disneyland. Sherri left on Friday to a meeting in San Luis Obispo and left me to be alone and responsible for the two awesome kids in the family. Staying at home, would not have been too bad, just keep the sharps put away, and doors locked right? Well to save time and get out of the house we made it a long vacation...

Saturday I had to take the van in to have transmission fluid added as it started shifting strangely. Then after Carters t-ball game, the van was loaded up and we headed to meet mom in SLO. 1/4 of the way there, the shifting of the transmission started acting up, but we made it safe. The kids did great, we went to dinner and they behaved beautifully, we shopped and had fun. We met up with Sherri between her meetings and had a blast.

Sunday Morning, after breakfast and Sherri’ meetings we were off to the OC and the Magic Kingdom. Every now and then the car acted up, but we made it by manually shifted down when needed. We stopped at IKEA in Burbank for some shopping (no meatballs) and then off to the container store... We must get organized!! Upon leaving Pasadena, the ride got a little rougher. We made it to the hotel in Anaheim, and I called Honda, they sent a tow truck over and took it to the dealer...

On Monday, we headed to California Adventure. What a day... it was Megan Bleecker’s birthday party and we hit all the fun attractions for the kids. Lunch was with Arial and all the princesses. Ella had such a good time, and on this trip started to call Snow White "no white". Now only 3 princesses are referred to as "Ella". After lunch I got the dreaded call from Honda, you need a new transmission..... And Honda will pay for it!!" What a relief, the extended warranty has officially saved us a lot of money!! Time to party on! We stayed until the park was closed, I think the kids did everything their heart desired and were ready to hit Disneyland the next day. We learned a lesson, that not hopping is great! We got so much done by staying in one park.

After getting back to the hotel, I had to set the alarm for 3 am... yes 3 am!! Tomorrow was the day we were exited that we were going to be at Disneyland for. Tuesday Julie Andrews was going to be signing her new book. Sherri love Julie Andrews and I knew I had to do what I could so she could meet her. Officially, I could not line up till 4 am, but upon arriving at 4:15, after waking from the hotel, about 70 people were already in line. At 7 am they cast members began handing out wrist bands. The wrist bands guaranteed you the ability to buy a book. Upon receiving a wrist band you went to the main entrance, which opened at 8:30. Everyone had to go to the same line and we were let in before the general public, but after the magic morning people. You could buy a pre-signed book, or take your chances on actually meeting JA and having her sign in person.

What would have been the point not risking it??? So When I got in line to buy the book, I was told I would be just over the 100th guest to buy the unsigned book and my place in line would be saved at that number. I did purchase the unsigned book. I was number 114, and was told to be back at noon. WOW, all the stress was relieved. Sherri and the Kids arrived at the park shortly after I got the book. She was ecstatic!!

Around 10:30 on Tuesday, we went by the Carousel in Fantasy land, and saw the parks suits presenting JA with the plaque for the horse they modeled after the one she rode as Mary Poppins. We both got excited as we knew soon Sherri would possibly meet her.

Around 2 pm, Sherri had called to tell me she met and shook hand with JA and had a nice conversation. This will be something special that she will always remember. I wish I could have gone with her, but it was great to be able to give her that "gift".

We were scheduled to come home that night, but without a transmission in the car, that was kind of hard. We ended up staying an additional two nights, and played and Disney one more day. We got home late this afternoon and boy, are we tired. Carter has already worn his new Jedi costume, and we have had several light saber battles.. And Ella had carried her new Minnie dolls all over the house.

Good night to all, and I should be blogging again shortly after our next trip in May... Cheers

Wait.... It is March?

Wow, I can not believe it... February just flew by and we are almost into the next quarter....

As you can tell we had a busy February.. Birthdays for both Sherri and I... I won't say who is older, being so young I want to show respect! You would think that we would have had a party but no.. not yet. We hope to have a party some time soon. The big news is that Carter is starting T-Bal (1st practice is tomorrow) and his first practice game is on Saturday. I am looking forward to spending some time with him and watching his love for sports grow.

Shortly after Valentines day, Sherri had a Bridal show for Princess House and then she begun the long process of preparing for JBF (Just Between Friends) consignement sale. After moving enough clothes to cover a three generation family we decided it was time to let someone else get some use of the clothes. So she consigned over 520 baby items. She finished all of that fun work just as I got home from my conference in San Diego... I think I got the better end of the deal.

After all the long work and we kinda got our order restored, BAM! We decided to take some time for the family, and head out of town. We actually got home just before midnight last night from a wonderful two day stay at Disneyland and Disneys California Adventure. This time was a blast!! Ella was really into the characters and she knew exactly what to do:

  • Walk up very cute and give the character a nice big hug

  • Turn around and pose for a picture with a great big grin

  • Slowly walk away from character

She could not have been any cutier!!

We also had a great surprise. As we boarded the storybook boat ride, Goofy decided come and join use. Carter got to sit up with him and enjoy the ride. Carte was a great big brother, showing Ella all the ropes, she had grown so much since our last visit in November. I think next trip, she will be showing us the way around the park.

Well as you know Carter is becoming a big boy and he took his first step and went on his first tip on the Disney mountian range. Carter and Dad rode the Matterhorn. While he was not sure at first but I think he liked it. It was not one of those attractions he said, NO I dont want to go on again, but it was more of the hmmmm... I liked the crystals, and the snow... So next time who knows... Big Thunder??? Maybe Dad will have his coaster buddy sooner than he expected!!

It was a beautiful two days.. Thank you Disney for all the fun and memories...

I am very excited we will be going back down in April for Megan Bleeckers birthday party, I am sure the family will have a blast. Then for Sessions in April 30 - May 4th...

Well the Kids have gone to bed and I am looking forward to resting and visitng with my beautiful bride... Two Disney days and we are both exhausted...

Valentines Day '08

Wow, I can not belive this day has come and already gone. Is is half way through February! Now we have to start getting ready for Easter and the Bleecker trip to Disney in April. It seems like just yesterday we were coming home from Florida, and we are planning this years trip.

We had a great Valentines day, Carter brought home A LOT of candy from preschool and is excited to give it all a try. Ella, Sherri and I were at home enjoying the beautiful sun shine. Although the convertable top came down when I was on my way to get Carter.

We are getting ready for dinner, and the nightly routine. I can not wait for the evening play time and then the weekend!
